Hinged Tile Door

The Hinged Tile Door provides a high-quality and discreet opening for access to building services located behind ceramic tiled walls.
Each panel is made to match the specific tile size or tile combination being used, eliminating the need for unsightly cuts or visible frames.
With whole tiles fitted on the door face and no disrupted grout joints, the access panel blends seamlessly with the surrounding wall, making
it almost invisible.

Design & Performance

This panel uses innovative spring-loaded pivot hinges to prevent door sag, even with heavy tiles. The design ensures a stable and smooth
opening arc, allowing tiles to be laid with minimal gaps between the door tray and surrounding wall tiles. Once adjusted for tile weight,
the door will not drop further, preventing damage to tiles during operation.

The panel is available in powder-coated white or black as standard, with a textured surface that provides a strong key for tile adhesion.
It is fully removable from the frame using the spring-loaded hinge system, allowing full and easy access when required.
The unit is adjustable in all directions to ensure perfect alignment with surrounding tiles.
Latching options include square drive locks with sealed chrome barrels and security keys, or a concealed touch catch mechanism.

Technical & Construction

• Door Tray & Frame: Constructed from 1.0 & 1.2mm Zintec electro-galvanised mild steel with a 25mm concealed frame and pre-punched fixing holes. Finished in textured polyester powder coating (all RAL colours available).
• Hinges: Spring-loaded pivot hinge system for strength and adjustability.
• Locks: Square drive lock with chrome sealed radial pin tumbler lock barrel to match tile depth. Includes stainless steel escutcheon plate. Optional concealed touch catch mechanism available.

Fire Performance

Independently tested and available with up to 2 hours fire rating (tested to BS EN 1634-1).
Fire-tested panel size: 1795 x 795mm.
Additional fire, acoustic, and air pressure testing carried out by UKAS accredited facilities.

Hinged Tile Doors are made-to-order to match the tile layout of each project.
Bespoke manufacturing ensures doors align perfectly with tile grout lines and surrounding finishes.

Installation Guide

1. Prepare a trimmed and protected opening at least 5mm larger than the external frame dimensions.
2. Position the panel to align with grout lines and the tile scheme.
3. Screw-fix the frame through all pre-punched holes at 300mm maximum intervals on all four sides.
4. Tile directly onto the door surface.
5. Adjust door alignment using a 10mm spanner to move the door left or right. Adjust the frame if needed to level the door tray.
6. Continue tiling away from the door and oversail the frame with adjacent tiles to maintain consistent grout gaps.

Operation & Maintenance

• Operation: Insert key into lock and press against the sealing mechanism to open. For touch catch versions, simply push the door to release.
• Cleaning: Do not use abrasive cleaners. Wipe gently with a soft cloth.
• Maintenance: Check hinges and locks annually (or more often with heavy use). Tighten or oil as required. Always ensure pivot hinges are fully engaged into the frame.
